With the half-term Hallowe’en break quickly approaching, we thought we’d let you know what we have lined up to keep you – and the little ones – amused…

As is the same every year, 2019 is fit to burst with events and fun along the Causeway Coast. To inspire and help you organise and plan, we thought we’d collect the best our beautiful north coast has to offer.

See you there!

Enjoy the Halloween Happenings on the Causeway Coast

We are getting into the Halloween ‘spirit’ a the Hotel, where we have some interesting decorations in place to set the scene for a ghoulishly great half-term break!

On Saturday 26th October the Community Rescue Service is hosting a kids Strictly Come Dancing evening in our ballroom. The little ones have been practising hard ahead of the big night in aid of a great cause.

On Sunday 27th October we are hosting a Spooky Sunday Lunch, with diners (and their little guests) welcome to enjoy the laughs and entertainment provided by Parky the Magician. There’s face painting and fancy dress too!

Away from the Hotel and there are four days of spook-tacular Council events and entertainment to look forward to, kicking off in Ballymoney on Monday 28th October before further celebrations in Limavady (October 29th), Coleraine (October 30th) and Ballycastle (October 31st).

Closest to us is Coleraine, and a range of illuminated inflatable decorations bedecking the town centre buildings have been turning heads…

The fireworks display and entertainment on Wednesday 30th at the Rugby Avenue playing fields is always a great evening out, and best of all entry is FREE! There are also amusements and slime workshops, and some events in the town centre during the daytime.

Venture out to Downhill and at Bishops Gate you can embark on a journey of adventure and discovery as you take to the spooky woodland on a Halloween scavenger hunt… 28th October to 2nd November, 10am – 3pm each day.

And if you just want to get away from it all, enjoy a relaxing break in comfortable surroundings with great food and friendly staff, you know who to call…

For all other enquiries, including rooms and rates for any of the dates and events listed above, you can get in touch with our team by clicking here or by phoning 028 7082 3507.

At Magherabuoy, we love our food and drink. So here’s an early ‘heads up’ – dates have now been confirmed for this year’s beer and food festival. It’s back again to Portrush Town Hall on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October.

The Portrush Beer & Food Festival is brought to the North Coast by the team behind Lacada Brewery Co-Operative.

The story here is simple. Lacada is a community owned Co-Operative brewery based on the world famous Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland. The Beer and Food Festival enables the Lacada Co-operative to put on show its’ range of artisan beers alongside other local brews, as well as product from the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain. For example, Yellow Belly Beer from Wexford were amongst those who attended the 2017 event. Closer to home, Glens of Antrim Craft Ales and Beers were also in attendance. No doubt details will emerge soon of what we can expect from this year’s event.

The festival attracts a great crowd and is growing in poularity every year. It really is a gentle way to break into the autumn and the long dark evenings. Book your stay with us now.

Lacada Half Hung

Charity

The Festival also supports charitable causes. The 2018 charity partner is the Alzheimer’s Society. All money raised at the festival will go towards helping local projects.

Now in it’s 6th year the Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival has grown from strength to strength and represents a wonderful celebration of our neighbours Ballycastle and Rathlin Island’s maritime history and heritage together.

The festival is named after the body of water, the “Rathlin Sound”, found between the mainland and island and combines a packed itinerary of events with delicious local foods and beautiful crafts, courtesy of the visiting Naturally North Coast and Glens Market, a Sailing Regatta, various other races and a visit from JetMan!

When you’re visiting you’ll also be able to enjoy live cookery theatres featuring top local chefs, the Ulster Chowder Championship and you might even catch a glimpse of visiting Viking Ships!

All of this is set amidst stunning scenery, with the iconic Fairhead never far away, diverse attractions and an area bursting with local culture and heritage.

If that’s whetted your appetite then be aware that the Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival 2017 will take place between 26th May and 4th of June.
