Situated on a hilltop overlooking the splendour of the North Antrim Coast, Magherabuoy House provides one of the most special wedding venue locations on the North Coast. The Hotel incorporates the period residence of the former Minister of Home Affairs. Built in the 1860's the “Old House” has been carefully restored and extended, providing a modern product in a majestic setting and affords a lovely backdrop for a truly idyllic wedding .

Your wedding is our only wedding today…

Regardless of size, only one wedding booking is taken per day and each reception is given the meticulous individual attention it deserves.

Our experienced Banqueting Manager Bridget McIlroy is dedicated to the planning and smooth running of your wedding and will look after your every need down to the smallest detail, right  from the moment you book your reception. Why not arrange a no obligation viewing of the hotel and facilities, and let us talk you through the possibilities for your very special day. You'll be pleasntly surprised at the variety of wedding rooms and the standard of decor that'll provide a fitting backdrop to your special day.
On your big day…

The red carpet treatment begins from you arrival at the hotel. Your guests will meet in our luxurious foyer, where we can arrange for refreshments to be served.

For Drinks

A spacious lounge is situated just off the main foyer, which hosts a large bar and comfortable surroundings for your guests to relax in.

For Dining

For larger parties the Causeway Suite offers a self contained wedding venue that can accommodate up to 300 for dinner. Causeway has its own entrance, 3 bars, toilets, elevated stage, sprung dancefloor and professional audio-visual installation. The Lanyon Room with it's own bar and dance floor is the perfect location for wedding receptions of up to 140 guests, with plenty of natural light and a subtle colour scheme. There is access out to the courtyard and children's play area if any of your guests need a breath of fresh air.

For more intimate celebrations

For a more intimate reception why not try one of our suites within the original Magherabuoy House.

Seating up to 20 guests, theSir Dawson Bates Suite features an old fashioned working fireplace and picturesque bay window and is available for dining and for civil wedding ceremonies.

The Atlantic Suite is on the first floor and is accessed via a winding staircase with a large stained glass window as a backdrop and combines the old with the new. Large windows with fabulous views over the Atlantic, modern décor ensure this suite has plenty of colour and light. Seating up to 35 guests.

For Civil Ceremonies

The hotel also holds a civil licence for both the Lanyon Room, in the newer wing of the hotel and the Sir Dawson Bates Room, in the original house, meaning that we can cater for all of your needs under one roof.

We have been hosting weddings for over 20 years and so have great relationships with all of the local companies who can assist you with your every need from your dress and morning suit to your cars, flowers and invitations. If you would like assistance with any of these our Banqueting Manager will be delighted to assist you when you book your reception at the Magherabuoy.

Wedding Timetable

They say that it is all in the planning and so in order to help you get underway we have put together a wedding timetable to help you to plan in advance for your big day. Put it on the fridge or in your wedding file and tick off the items as you complete them. It may seem daunting at first but we have broken it down into manageable chunks based on a timescale of 12 months.

Wedding Fair

We host wedding fairs every year in March and September. These prove an ideal setting for you to see the hotel, discuss your requirements with our team and to meet local suppliers of all things “wedding”. From florists to hairdressers and beauticians they will all be here to discuss your needs.
