The Glens of Antrim

The famous nine glens of Antrim are all located nearby. Blessed with a diversity of landscape, rich in folklore, history and natural beauty they will transport from the frantic bustle of modern life.

The glens combine natural drama and beauty and are full of myths, mysteries and surprises. We can make you up a picnic to see you through the day as you negotiate the hills and bends to discover this landscape of legends and folklore and walk in the footsteps of giants, fairies.

The nine glens are:

Glenarm - The glen of the army. Located on the famous Causeway Coastal Route.
Glencloy - The glen of the hedges. Located two miles north of Glenarm
Glenariff - The arable or fertile glen. Near the village of Waterfoot.
Glenballyemon - Edwardstown glen. Situated above Cushendall
Glenaan - The glen of the colt's foot. On the Cushendall - Ballymoney mountain road.
Glencorp - The glen of the slaughtered. Almost parallel to the main road from Cushendall to Cushendun.
Glendun - The glen of the brown river. Adjacent to Cushendun village.
Glenshesk - The sedgy glen. Just East of Ballycastle, and sweeping towards the ruins of historical Bonamargy friary.
Glentaisie - Named after 'Taisie', princess of Rathlin Island, roughly west of Ballycastle and, like Glenshesk, close to the town.
